Michael Arrington, founder of the TechCrunch blog, said he was leaving the site at least during February because the threats and harassment had become too much for him to handle.Last year he had to hire private security protection costing $US2000 a day after "an off-balance individual threatened to kill me and my family", but the last straw came this week in Germany when "someone walked up to me and quite deliberately spat in my face".
